CD Singles (8cm)

CD singles are music releases featuring a small number of tracks, typically including the main song along with remixes, karaoke versions, or B-sides. In the 90s and early 00s, they were commonly used to promote specific songs from albums and boost chart performance. This was particularly true for anison (アニソン) titles in Japan, where anime opening/ending theme songs were often released as singles many months before a soundtrack or compilation album could be purchased.
