Hibari is a cheerful, pure-hearted girl who has a tendency to daydream. Like most other children her age, she longs for the latest electronic toy known as a Pata Pi. After obtaining one from a mysterious young man she dubs her “prince”, Hibari is drawn into a strange conflict within her home of Akihabara. Her Pata Pi, Densuke, is no ordinary electronic pet. In fact, he can summon the mysterious Diva, Aphrodite, to protect Hibari from those who wish to harm her. The connection between Hibari, the “prince,” and this strange Diva may well hold the key to unlocking humanity’s future.

Affectionate toward both living beings and objects, Hibari’s friendly nature and innate cuteness make it easy for her to form connections. At first, she appears to be a girl “in love with love,” enamoured with the idea of romance, particularly with her mysterious prince. However, as the story unfolds, Hibari matures into a young woman whose love extends to humanity and everyone around her.

Hibari’s parents adore her and want the best for her, but they’re also beginning to recognise that she is growing into a young woman with her own independence. Her mother works in software engineering, and her father is robotics development engineer. By the end of the series, they both warmly welcome Tsubame into their home to become a close-knit family of four.

Hibari is named for Hana-Koganei train station in Kodaira, Tokyo and the Eurasian skylark.
