Hatoko is a frivolous and air-headed idol who gained popularity in Akihabara with her debut single, “Koi Shimasho Nebarimasho”. Beyond singing, she also participates in typical idol activities like acting and attending festivals. After a traumatic experience involving mushrooms during a commercial shoot, she meets Shooting Star and eagerly joins the battle for Akihabara.

Although Hatoko is only a few years younger than Miyama and Jun, she refers to them as “old hags” and dislikes sharing Shooting Star with them. However, as the series progresses, she begins to find mutual ground with them and ultimately chooses to leave Rosenkreuz to join the “Akihabara Dendō Shibire-gumi.” In the 2011-nen no Natsuyasumi film, Hatoko is technically working as an idol, so she appears sporadically throughout the film. Despite her minimal involvement, she supports the Anima Mundi by the end.

In battle, Hatoko uses the powerful Avatar Cockatrice, which she often calls cute despite its frightening appearance. Her Apostle suit is named Beelzebub, and she wears it with pride. Unlike Miyama and Jun, Hatoko does not appear in the manga version of Akihabara Dennou Gumi, and her role in the novel adaptation of the movie is significantly different compared to the film.

A recurring joke in the series is Tsugumi’s apparent failure to realise that Hatoko is Dark Pigeon, even though it is painfully obvious. In the movie, Tsugumi continues to be a loyal “Hatopyon” fan.

Hatoko is named for Daikanyama Station in Shibuya, Tokyo.
